Last month, I was really getting into experimenting with coloured pencils and hoped that I would get a project come my way with the opportunity to use this medium. The universe answered and out the of the blue, I was commissioned by a client to do a pet portrait as a special gift for her sister-in-law. Luckily for me, she was more than happy to have the portrait created with coloured pencils, even though it would only have been my third illustration in count using them. The subject was her sister-in-law’s sweet little pooch, Ruby, who is obviously very loved in the family! It was such a pleasure to draw Ruby, it melted my heart every time I looked at her sweet face.
I’d like to think that with what I do, I’m spreading love and joy so it’s always heartwarming to receive positive messages like this after it’s all done.
“We presented A with the sketch of Ruby on Sunday night and she was over the moon! Thank you so much – she was really rapt and wants to sleep with it next to her bed 🙂 “

I really love drawing animals, whether they are furry or scaly – they are all gorgeous to me! With Christmas coming around, they apparently make beautiful gifts so if you are interested in a commission, please get in touch with me through hello[at]nevertheless.com.au
